After a year of working, intense slacking and then intense working again, the new release of the radio is finally upon us!

This update brings a bunch of new features that we’ll be activating in the next few days in a gradually fashion. Migrating the mess that v3 was into the new v4 system took a long time and many tears ~~(mostly because of shows)~~, and the new website design took some time to look good and somewhat close to what I envision for the radio and it’s future.

A few highlights of the stuff that V4 is bringing to the table:

User profiles! - We are introducing this very sweet thing called user profiles, a place where you can keep track of your favorites/uploads/posts/etc, and so can your fans? or friends, idk.
Song snippets - Sometimes you just can’t recall if that song with moonrunes on it’s title is the one you wanted to request, so now we put a 10s snippet of the song made with a super advanced restrained skynet clone that will give a preview of the chorus of the song. (overengineered where?)
Artist profiles - From now on everytime an Artist plays or you go to the song table, you’ll be able to directly access that Artist and all their releases and collabs and even share the url!
News section! - Duh.
Upload of music - We revamped the upload process with a more thorough one to help us build a better music database.

Part of my vision for the radio is not only to keep delivering the best of the east ~~(hey JED)~~ but also to have a better and more comprehensive music database of Japanese artists. This update is the first step towards that goal and even though it’s been already a long journey, we are ready to keep going for a lot longer.

And all of this wouldn’t have been possible without the support from all of you that love the radio and want to see it thrive. Special thanks to Crawl for putting up with all my shit into building the new API, Deceit for being there and helping as a mod since the beginning, Cocoa for always being the first to upload new releases (still no idea how he does that) and Pilar for always helping out on Discord when something happens with our bots.
